Show Policy for Media

CHBA-Central Alberta Zero-Tolerance Policy for Pre-Show and On-site Soliciting

The Canadian Home Builders' Association-Central Alberta (CHBA-Central Alberta) would like to remind all members of the media registered for the 2007 Red Deer Home Show of its zero-tolerance policy for pre-show and on-site soliciting by attendees with complimentary working media credentials.

Complimentary media badges are issued only to reported, editors, freelance writers, production crews and photographers working on stories or programs for media outlets relevant to the housing industry.  All media require appropriate credentials and are subject to prior approval by CHBA-Central Alberta.

Working media with complimentary credentials may not solicit business from exhibitors, spokespeople or attendees during the 2007 Red Deer Home Show.  Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to, marketing and sales of satellite tours for or by on-air talent, producers and/or production staff, and marketing and sales of ad space for any publication of any kind by reporters, editors and/or photographers.  Anyone found engaging in such behavior will be subject to having their working media credentials for the 2006 Red Deer Home Show revoked immediately by CHBA-Central Alberta.  CHBA-Central Alberta reserves unto itself the absolute discretion to enforce its rules and policies as it may deem appropriate.  Enforcement of CHBA-Central Alberta's rules and policies may result in the ejection from the premises of any persons lacking the appropriate credentials and/or registration.

Paid media registration is available for marketing, public relations, advertising, sales, publishers, and other non-editorial employees who plan to engage in any sales or marketing activities.

Please contact CHBA-Central Alberta at (403) 346-5321 if your Show plans include any of these activities and you need to re-register or if you have any questions.

Individuals solely engagged in sales, marketing or any type of "pay-for-play" activities must register as Paid Media.

How will I know if my complimentary media registration is approved?

Who may receive Paid Media credentials?

Paid Media registration is available for marketing, public relations, advertising, sales, publishers, and other non-editorial employees who plan to engage in any sales or marketing activities.

Where can I pick up media credentials?

Working Media credentials can be picked up starting Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at 8:00 AM in the Home Show Media Centre in the Prairie Pavilion of Westerner Park.  Please plan to provide a business card and show photo ID.

May I bring my spouse?

Yes.  There is no fee for spouse registration if the name of the media outlet you are representing also will be used for your spouse's badge.  However, if a different company name or address is preferred, your spouse will need to register separately and pay the apprpirate registration fees.

What if I am qualified to register both as an exhibitor and as a member of the media?

Please be aware that you may only hold one registration badge at any given time.  If you are registered as an exhibitor and qualify for a complimentary media registration, you may exchange the badge in the working medi room during the Show; however, your exhibitor badge must be turned in at that time and will not be returned.
