The Association and all of its activities are governed and operated by volunteer Board, Council and Committee Members. 
 
CHBA-Central Alberta councils and other special interest groups target specific disciplines within the home building industry and give members with common interests the opportunity to exchange ideas, further their education, and develop policies that benefit their areas of interest.

Builder Council

Acts to promote the growth and effectiveness of the industry in the region, and generally advise the Board of Directors as to such matters and issues as they see fit, and generally carry out such duties as may be given them from time to time or as set out in its Terms of Reference, i.e., Government Relations Committee, provide representatives to Alberta Housing Industry Technical Committee (AHITC), and Albert New Home Warranty Program (ANHWP) Board of Directors.
 
Shall be representatives of Members of the Association who are engaged in home building.  The Inaugural Chair shall be appointed by the Board of Directors, thereafter, shall be elected annually by the Members of the said Committee or as set out in its Terms of Reference.

General Council

Acts to promote the growth and effectiveness of the industry in the region, and generally advise the Board of Directors as to such matters and issues as they see fit, and generally carry out such duties as may be given them from time to time or as set out in its Terms of Reference. 
 
Also provides leadership to the Membership Committee.
 
Shall be representatives of Members of the Association who are engaged in the fields of suppliers, manufacturers, professionals, or other support functions to the industry.  The Inaugural Chair shall be appointed by the Board of Directors, thereafter, shall be elected annually by the Members of the said Committee or as set out in its Terms of Reference.

Red Deer Home Show Committee

Acts to organize the annual event designed to present new ideas and solutions for home building, renovating, landscaping, home decor and decorating.

Built Green Committee
 

Acts to organize and implement the Built Green program, which allows builders/renovators to train and certify, and build environmental and energy efficient homes.

Safety Committee 

Acts to organize and implement construction safety training and programming.  Acts as liaise to Alberta Construction Safety Association, Parkland Regional Safety Committee, Workers Compensation Board, and other safety-related organizations.
 
Shall be representatives of Members of the Association.  The Inaugural Chair shall be appointed by the Board of Directors, thereafter, shall be elected annually by the Members of the said Committee or as set out in its Terms of Reference.

Membership Committee

Under the leadership of the General Councl, acts to promote the CHBA to its members; to recruit new members from the home building industry and related residential housing businesses; and to promote public relations.

Education Committee

Acts to develop and implement on-going member education and certification programs, and enhance residential construction industry knowledge.  Acts as liaise to Professional Home Builders Institute of Alberta, and other residential construction industry-related organizations.

Awards Committee

Acts to organize and implement a recognition and awards program for CAHBA Builders, Trade, Suppliers and Professional members.  In addition, acts as liaison to Provincial and National Awards programs.

Marketing & Events Committee

Acts to design, develop and implement marketing and communications strategies on behalf of the CHBA to CHBA members and /or members of the public.  Acts to organize special projects including The Smoke Detector Program.  This committee also host our Website Advisory Committee.
 
Acts to organize the annual Charity Golf Tournament, President's Ball, Member Dinner Meetings, and entertainment for special CHBA events.

The Smoke Detector Program

Acts to coordinate the activities to promote fire and injury prevention in partnership with the City of Red Deer, Emergency Services.
