JUDGING
We raised the bar a few years ago by including industry peers in the judging process -- this will continue in 2009.
WHAT'S NEW?
All judging will consist of in-house judging only -- on-site judging has been discontinued.
We do appreciate that photographs just don't do justice to construction technology and the program risks becoming an interior design contest. Part of the rationale behind this decision was to accommodate the CHBA-Alberta Awards Unification Task Force recommendations to standardize the province-wide judging process.
We've also re-introduced a customer survey.
The discontinuation of the Alberta New Home Warranty Program's "Customer Choice" survey left many builders without avenue for gaining feedback from their customers in the region. We have incorporated a customer survey as part of the Builder of the Year and Renovator of the Year competitions.
