GST Cut Helps Home Buyers, Owners, Renters
OTTAWA, February 6, 2008 -
The application for homebuyers to apply for their transitional GST rebate relating to the reduction from 6% to 5% is now available.
This rebate only applies for those homebuyers who buy from new home builders, and is not available to those who build their own homes.

Canada Revenue Agency has released new tables and formulas for calculating the amount of GST/HST new housing rebate and, if applicable, the Nova Scotia rebate, where the purchase price includes the GST/HST and is net of the housing rebate(s), are now available on the CRA website.
